The project deals with the question how public interests are institutionalized in private corporations. The project follows the thesis that the institutionalization of public interests in private corporations first and foremost depends on two factors: on the form of the corporation and on the institutional setting the corporation finds itself in. Empirically, the project plans to analyze how the public interests 'gender equality' and 'climate change mitigation' are institutionalized in different forms of corporations and in different institutional settings such as in Deutschland AG versus financial market capitalism.
