Franziska Stauch, M.A.
Since April 2020, Franziska Stauch is a research and teaching fellow in political science and international organizations. Her dissertation research focuses on multidimensional UN Peace Operations and in particular the background of the mandating process. After finishing her undergraduate studies in sociology and political science, she specialized in international organizations and globalization as part of her MA program at the University of Jena. In 2012, she was a delegate to the Harvard WorldMUN. For her master’s thesis “The Mandating of UN Peace Operations. Trends and Paradigm since 1990” (2015), she was awarded the Exam Prize of the Friends' Association of Political Science. An internship at the Center for International Peace Operations as well as an advanced training course at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College sparked her current research interest in crisis management of the United Nations. In addition to her academic work, she is active in the directorate of the Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia unit of the United Nations Association of Germany (DGVN). Since October 2016, she has been a lecturer at the research unit "International Organizations and Globalization" and coordinated the WorldMUN delegation of FSU Jena. Franziska teaches international conflict management with a particular focus on the United Nations.
