The first FSR Christmas reading in presence for a long time was very popular.

After years of absence due to corona, it was finally time again on 12th December 2022 for an FSR Christmas reading in presence instead of only via screen. With fairy lights, Christmas decorations and a digital bonfire, the Student Council of Political Science and Social Studies put a simple university lecture hall into a contemplative festive mood.

While mulled wine, punch and cookies were set up and the hall's sound system was fed Christmas carols, nearly every available seat filled up. About 80 students and staff members of the institute cozied up together for the evening's program. This was a colorful mix of presentations by the FSR and the Institute.

Mrs. Ilka Hameister impressed the audience at the beginning with practiced trumpet playing, before Professor Michael Dreyer made the audience laugh with a few poems and a natural science perspective on Santa's work. Representing Ms. Franziska Sandt, Pia Hermann from the FSR recited the Christmas story "The Gift of the Magi." This was followed by an adapted version of the well-known "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, written by FSR member Erik Zinke himself, which cleverly packed a bit of criticism of environmental politics.

After a short break to refill the cups, Rebecca Bück and Pauline Uhrmeister from the FSR tested the knowledge of those present with a little lightning quiz on the topic of politics over the past year. To top it off, the audience was taken back to childhood days by the department "Political System in the Federal Republic of Germany" led by Ms. Marion Reiser, thanks to a little "Petersson and Findus" Christmas story.

The FSR Political Science and Social Studies would like to thank all participants for their active attendance and a nice evening together.
