The Student Council Political Science/Social Studies (FSR) is the elected representation
of the students at the institute here in Jena. Currently about 23 students are active for the FSR, 13 of them elected.

After the last elected FSR unfortunately disbanded, some master and bachelor students came together in winter 2020 to rebuild the FSR. Thus, this semester was mainly characterized by the reconstruction of the committee.
The goal: to enable student networking as well as representing interests in times of pandemic.
Still unelected and acting only on a voluntary basis, we started to create offers for the student council. An online Christmas reading, several "Meet-And-Drinks" (online formats for students to get to know each other and exchange ideas), a small end-of-semester party in Paradiespark, some content-related events and even a panel discussion on the Bundestag election in September 2021 were organized.

We also worked heavily on our social media presence - We created a new logo, and worked on a new corporate design for Instagram. To date, we're getting very good feedback on it, and the public-facing presence has helped us be found and contacted more quickly by students.

Perhaps the main event in the summer semester, however, were the committee elections, and with 13 newly elected FSR members we were able to start the winter semester. At the same time as the Student Induction Days (STET) came the constitution in October - the FSR was now officially constituted. The new board consists of Rebecca Bück (chair), Leonard Fischer (vice-chair), Anton Gries (budget officer) and Maximilian Volz (treasurer).
In the winter semester 2021/22, routine gradually set in - weekly meetings, committee work, exchange with the institute, all this is now everyday life.
Events - own as well as in cooperation with the institute - are also part of the program and will become more frequent. In December, another Christmas reading took place - unfortunately online again, but no less entertaining! As soon as the pandemic situation allows, an institute party will be planned!
Also, as a result of several incidents at the STET, we have created our own
Anti-Discrimination Office and appointed anti-discrimination officers. Awareness workshops are being planned.

We look forward to 2022 with confidence and to many new projects and events!
