Dr. Thomas Ohrt

Personal details

Since October 2014, Dr. Thomas Ohrt has been assigned to the Chair of Training Science as a teacher for special tasks. After completing his studies in Sports Science at the Deutschen Hochschule für Körperkultur (DHfK) in Leipzig as well as the studies for the teaching profession in sports and English at the University of Leipzig, he worked as a trainee teacher at the Gustav Theodor Fechner School (secondary school) in Leipzig. From 2000 to 2004, he was employed as a project assistant in the field of Training Science at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. The doctoral thesis "Empirical research on the redesign of physical education at vocational schools in Thuringia" was successfully defended in 2006. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a teacher of sports and English at the SBSZ (for Economics and Administration) in Jena and then as a teacher of sports, German and computer science at the Ripplevale School in Deal (England). Since the end of 2006, he is back at the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena. First until 2010 as a research assistant in University Sports and then as a teacher for special tasks in the field of Didactics of Sports.
