Welcome to the Department for the Psychology of Human Movement and Sport at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena!
Our research focuses on psychological processes in the context of movement and sports. Specifically, we are interested in the interplay of psychological processes such as emotion (e.g. anxiety), cognition (e.g. attention, decision-making, etc.), and perception (e.g. visual and auditory information processing) on the one hand and motor behavior and performance (e.g. motor expertise and experience) on the other hand. This includes issues of motor learning and motor control.
Following an empirical approach with a special emphasis on experimental paradigms, we aim to answer basic research questions and to derive evidence-based recommendations for practitioners.
On the following pages you will find current information about our team members, research projects, publications and collaboration partners. You can also find the latest news about our department, ongoing teaching activities and our lab.
