Participation in the 3rd Thuringian Cancer Run „run & walk“ 2023

Again this year, the team of the Department for the Psychology of Human Movement and Sport participated together with friends and family members in the 3rd Thuringian Cancer Run "run & walk" 2023 (Thüringer Krebslauf „run & walk“ – du bist kostbar - Thüringische Krebsgesellschaft e.V. (thueringische-krebsgesellschaft.de)External link). As "Sportpsychos" of the FSU Jena, the team collected kilometers for a week to set an example for cancer prevention through movement. As in the previous year, highlight of the initiative was the presence running event on November 4, 2023 in Jena, where the kilometers could be completed on a 400m track in the stadium as well as on a 5km lap along the river Saale. In total, the nine members of the "Sportpsychos" were able to contribute an impressive 215 km for the good cause.

We are very happy with the organizers that a new participation record was set with 1,000 movement enthusiasts who collected a total of over 12,000 kilometres.

The team would like to thank the Thüringische Krebsgesellschaft e.V. for the excellent organization of the event and wishes further success for the prevention project "du bist kostbar". We look forward to participating again next year!
