Participation in the 4th Thuringian Cancer Run „run & walk“ 2024

Again this year, the team of the Department for the Psychology of Human Movement and Sport participated together with friends and family members in the 4th Thuringian Cancer Run "run & walk" 2024 (Thüringer Krebslauf „run & walk“ – du bist kostbar - Thüringische Krebsgesellschaft e.V.External link). As "Sportpsychos" of the FSU Jena, the team collected kilometers for a week to set an example for cancer prevention through movement. As in the previous year, highlight of the initiative was the presence running event on October 26, 2024 in Jena, where the kilometers could be completed on a 400 m track in the stadium as well as on a 5 km lap along the river Saale. In total, the eight members of the "Sportpsychos" were able to contribute an impressive 149 km for the good cause.

We are very happy with the organizers that a new participation record was set again with 1,500 movement enthusiasts who collected a total of over 20,000 kilometres.

The team would like to thank the Thüringische Krebsgesellschaft e.V. for the excellent organization of the event and wishes further success for the prevention project "du bist kostbar". We look forward to participating again next year!
